Control Marshal is a companion app for the Virtual Marshal system. It enables manual timing at designated checkpoints, with all recorded times seamlessly integrated into the event’s Virtual Marshal results.
The app is available exclusively for Android smartphones and is free to download and install. Registered marshals use the app, and event organizers assign duties to selected marshals at specific checkpoints defined as Control Marshal points. Each marshal can view their assigned duties within the app and use built-in navigation to reach their checkpoint.
Upon arriving at the correct location, the marshal can check in, which the app verifies using the device’s location. Both the marshal’s location and check-in time are automatically recorded.
As competitors reach the checkpoint, the marshal taps the time-recording button and assigns each recorded time to the appropriate competitor. When duties are completed, the marshal performs a check-out, and the app records the final timestamp as well.
